Who Can Join Academic Federal Credit Union?
The Academic FCU provides financial services to employees, members of their immediate family, and volunteers of our affiliated institutions. This includes all full-time and part-time employees, volunteer groups (parent organizations, etc.), persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from our affiliated institutions, spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership, and members of everyone’s immediate family or household and organizations of such persons.
*Immediate family members are defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, and adoptive relationships.
**Household members are defined as any person living in the same dwelling maintaining a single economic unit.
ONCE A MEMBER, ALWAYS A MEMEBER Is our policy here at the Credit Union. Membership is the only employment benefit available to you for a lifetime, even if you change jobs, relocate, or retire. Therefore, regardless of where you work or live, you are a member of the credit union for life. To maintain your account throughout your professional life, all you need to do is have a $20.00 balance in your primary share account. That will make you a member in good standing.
