Academic Federal Credit Union offers a variety of CD's to serve your particular needs. For regular funds we offer 2 types of 3 month CD's 3 types of 1 year CD's, 2 year CD's and a 3 year CD. Most CD's can be purchased with the low low minimum of $500.00.

There are regular 3 month CD's as well as new money CD's. The new money CD requires that the funds used to purchase the CD are not on deposit at this institution. The new oney CD's pay a higher rate of interest that the regular 3 month CD's.

There are regular 1 year CD's , a Flexible CD, and a Liquid CD. The Flexible CD has a minimum deposit of $1000, additional funds can be added to it at any time with no penalty. The liquid CD has a $1000 minimum deposit, additional deposits of any amount can be added at any time and you are allowed to make a withdrawal once every 30 days without penalty as long as you maintain the minimum required balance of $1000.

Any CD that falls below the minimum required balance will be charged a 90 day interest penalty and closed.
